About The Role
As a Platform Engineer, you’ll enable our product engineering teams to move faster and more safely. You’ll own the platforms, tools and infrastructure powering our development workflows, improving reliability, streaming operations and enhancing developer experience. This role sits at the heart of our engineering organisation, helping to scale systems and practices as we grow. You’ll have autonomy to define foundational systems, drive engineering best practices, and build internal platforms to support growth.
What You’ll Do
- Champion a "platform as a product" mindset, gathering feedback from engineering teams and iterating to improve the developer experience
- Design, build and maintain scalable, reliable infrastructure on Google Cloud to support growing product needs
- Collaborate with developers to streamline local and CI/CD workflows, and champion platform best practices
- Evolve our observability stack with monitoring, logging and alerting for rapid, confident work
- Implement and maintain secure-by-default patterns for networking, secrets management, IAM, and workload isolation
- Accelerate and complete the adoption of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and GitOps for auditable changes
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of engineering experience at tech-centric, product-driven companies
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenTofu) on a major cloud platform (ideally Google Cloud)
- Strong software engineering foundation and a developer-first mindset
- Ability to influence engineering culture and drive best practices across cross-functional teams
- Hands-on experience with containerization, Kubernetes and modern CI/CD pipelines
- Practical approach to cloud cost optimization with efficiency improvements
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering, security, and product teams
- Comfort with ambiguity and bias toward action in fast-moving environments
What Will Give You an Edge
- Experience scaling infrastructure for multi-region architectures and growing teams
- Experience with relational database design and operations at scale (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Track record of improving developer experience through tooling and workflows
- Experience designing robust local development environments that mirror production
- Strong backend engineering skills (Go)
- Experience building internal platforms as products with roadmap definition and developer enablement
- Security-focused practices early in the SDLC and security left
