The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your career, working closely with clients and senior lawyers across a broad range of corporate and commercial matters. You will have genuine responsibility, exposure to quality work and the ability to build your own practice strengths.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a range of corporate and commercial matters with increasing autonomy
* Advising clients on transactions, structuring, compliance and general commercial issues
* Drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including Sale of Business Agreements and Share Purchase Deeds
* Supporting Partners on complex matters including M&As
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships
* Actively participating in networking, and contributing to firm growth
* Mentoring and supporting junior team members
About You
3+ years’ PQE in commercial law (Australian private practice)
Strong experience or exposure to areas such as:
* Business, asset or share sales
* Corporate structures and governance
* Shareholder/unitholder agreements
* Franchise agreements
* Commercial contracts
* Corporations Act compliance
* Advising for profit clients and NFPs
* Shareholders’ disputes
* Commercially focused with a practical, solutions-driven approach
* Confident communicator with strong client engagement skills
* Proactive, organised and able to manage competing priorities and financial accountability
* Comfortable using legal systems and technology
