Ballarat Grammar is one of regional Australia's leading co-educational schools with a proud history dating back to 1877 and a flourishing community of over 1,900 students from 6 months to Year 12, including around 260 boarders.

* To commence at Headstart (24 November 2025) or Term 1, 2026
* Position of Responsibility combined with a teaching load
* Salary range - $82,992 to $124,391 per annum plus superannuation + Responsibility Allowances

The Middle School Chair of Faculty – English provides curriculum and pedagogical leadership for the Years 7–9 English learning area. They lead high-quality teaching and learning aligned with the Australian Curriculum and foster collaboration, innovation, and professional growth among staff.

Working with other Chairs of Faculty and school leaders, the Chair contributes to the educational direction of the Middle School, ensuring the Active Teaching and Learning Model and Habits for Learning are embedded in practice and students are supported to become curious, reflective, and ethical learners.

The Middle School Chair of Faculty – English is both a curriculum leader and a driver of student achievement and teacher effectiveness.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

* Deep knowledge of the Australian Curriculum: English, including subject-specific pedagogical content knowledge across Years 7–9.
* Demonstrated success as a classroom practitioner with experience designing and delivering engaging, rigorous, and differentiated learning experiences.
* Experience leading or coordinating curriculum initiatives, teams, or projects within a school setting.
* A proven ability to work effectively, constructively and collaboratively within a team.
* Well-developed organisational skills, including ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines.
