About the Storeman role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join their team. As a member of the Parts team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Inward Goods and Dispatch area whilst providing a high level of customer service. Reporting to the Parts Manager, you will assist with receiving, dispatching, and managing stock in a fast-paced environment. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with basic experience in stores or dispatch who is eager to develop their skills within a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
* Receive and sort incoming parts and supplies.
* Collect, pack, dispatch, or deliver ordered parts.
* Assist with packaging and delivery of stock, as well as receiving incoming stock.
* Store items in an orderly and accessible manner.
* Process incoming requisitions and issue parts and supplies for internal use.
* Participate in stocktaking and update data in the system.
* Ensure the Parts Department is clean, safe, and tidy.
* Maintain merchandise displays and ensure non-essential stock is returned to suppliers promptly.
* Adhere to occupational health and safety (OHS) standards and company policies.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Applicants must have legible handwriting for accurate record-keeping and strong basic numeracy skills, as the role involves stocktaking and inventory management.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills for liaising with customers and team members.
· A keen sense of safety and awareness of OHS practices.
* Previous experience with inwards/outwards store procedures is preferred but not essential.
· Mechanical aptitude or familiarity with automotive parts is highly regarded.
· A valid Victorian Driver's License (manual preferred).
· Forklift License (or willingness to obtain).
