We are looking for an experienced and passionate
Full Time Sous Chef
to join the PLG team at
The Glasshouse
in
Caulfield East
. You'll oversee daily operations, manage kitchen staff, and ensure consistent food quality. If you're ready to step into a leadership role, this is a great opportunity for you
Centrally located in Caulfield East right next to the train station and on the edge of Melbourne's spectacular Caulfield Racecourse, home of the Melbourne Racing Club. The Caulfield Glasshouse is one of the best original pubs in Melbourne. With all day dining and plenty of entertainment available it is the perfect location for a day out with friends, to celebrate a special event, or a casual dinner. The Glasshouse has been awarded Best Sports Bar - Metropolitan at the 2025 AHA Awards. The AHA (VIC) State Awards for Excellence is the most prestigious event on Victoria's hospitality calendar, celebrating the finest in the industry.

What will my duties include?
Support the Head Chef in managing and training a diverse kitchen team.
Implement and manage Food Safety Plans.
Prepare and cook menu as per cooking guidelines and set standards.
Work in conjunction with the Head Chef to develop and implement menus.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ensure all food safety procedures are being followed.
The role you are applying for may be quite fast-paced and require you to complete tasks including but not limited to lifting boxes, kegs or stock, standing for long periods of time, and utilising stairs.
What We Are Looking For
Hold a Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
Food Handlers Certificate.
Experience working in a pub/bistro fast-paced environment.
Well-versed in all kitchen areas with hands-on experience.
Ability to follow and give directions when required.
Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
