Job Description: We are currently seeking a full-time experienced Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Indian cuisine and a passion for cooking authentic dishes that reflect the rich culinary heritage of Punjab. Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a wide range of Indian dishes, including tandoori, curries and vegetarian items Ensure food is consistently prepared and presented to the restaurants standards Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory control Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all food preparation areas Follow safe food handling and kitchen procedures Assist in creating and refining menu items Train and guide junior kitchen staff as needed Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service Requirements: Proven experience as a Cook, ideally in an Indian restaurant In-depth knowledge of traditional Indian spices and cooking methods Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen environment Excellent organizational and time management skills Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification Valid food handling and hygiene certification Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays Location: Located in vibrant South Brisbane, Punjabi Palace offers not only a rewarding workplace but also proximity to the city's cultural precinct, public transport and riverside amenities.
