What you will do:
* Read and interpret project drawings, specifications, and instructions to determine the correct painting methods, materials, and surface requirements.
* Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, filling, repairing cracks, and applying primers or sealants to ensure high-quality finishes.
* Mix and match paints, stains, varnishes, and coatings to achieve accurate colours and textures as required for each project.
* Apply paint using a range of tools including brushes, rollers, spray guns, and specialised coating equipment.
* Handle both internal and external painting tasks across residential and commercial construction projects.
* Perform protective coating work on various surfaces, including timber, concrete, metal frameworks, and cladding.
* Install and remove protective coverings, masking materials, and safety barriers to ensure clean and precise work.
* Maintain and clean equipment, tools, and work areas to uphold safety and quality standards.
* Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with the project plan and Pengyu Build-up's quality expectations.li>
* Collaborate with builders, carpenters, and other tradespeople to coordinate workflow and meet project timelines.
* Follow all workplace safety guidelines, using appropriate PPE and handling materials responsibly according to regulations.
What you should have:
* Formal qualification or proven experience as a Painter, ideally in residential or commercial construction.
* Strong knowledge of surface preparation, paint types, application techniques, and finishes.
* Familiarity with Australian standards and safe work practices relevant to painting and construction.
* Ability to operate painting tools, equipment, and machinery safely and effectively.
* Great attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
* Safety-conscious mindset with experience working in construction sites and adhering to WHS procedures.
