We are seeking a hands-on Purchasing Team Leader to manage day-to-day purchasing and logistics activities and support a small team. This role works closely with suppliers, freight partners, and internal teams to ensure stock availability, cost control, and a high level of internal customer service.
Responsibilities include
* Manage daily purchasing and ordering of stock
* Lead and support the purchasing team, allocating work as needed
* Liaise with suppliers and negotiate pricing, delivery, and terms
* Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and freight forwarders
* Track inbound shipments and ensure accurate delivery information
* Support sales teams with pricing and ETA enquiries
* Work closely with warehouse and accounts teams to resolve issues
* Identify cost savings and process improvements
* Ensure compliance with WHS and company policies
About you – Skills, experience and qualifications
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a purchasing, supply chain, or logistics role
* Previous team leadership or coordination experience
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Confident communicator with good attention to detail
* Comfortable using purchasing or ERP systems
* Proactive, reliable, and solution focused
* Experience in machinery or parts supply desirable but not essential
