Community Facilities Maintenance is a service provider for the City's Asset managers providing all electrical maintenance and minor installations when requested. The goal of the Electrical Team is to add value to the City, maintain its electrical assets at a high level, and provide a detailed level of service that is professional and efficient.
About Your New Role
The Electrical Technical Officer is responsible for both office and field-based planning, organising and coordinating of field resources via Council's web-based IT systems for reactive, planned, scheduled and proactive maintenance works.
When dealing with external service providers, this will also include auditing of works and their paperwork and processing of claims for payment.
Responsibilities Include
* Ensure all electrical work undertaken is compliant with AS3000, Qld Electrical Safety Act & Regulations, Electrical Safety ActCodes of Practice and WH&S Act.
* Maintain resource plan to ensure resources are balanced against workload and all works are completed within allottedtimeframes.
* When called upon, undertake repairs and maintenance duties (hands-on), providing your own "hand tools of trade".
* Assist in the development and training of electricians & apprentices.
* Prepare technical reports on operational issues including recommending a course of action.
* Identify areas and actions within the planned maintenance scope that will improve the economical and operational life of plant andequipment.
We're Looking For People Who Have
* A high level of competency in the use of web-based systems and the MS Office suite.
* Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
* You are proactive in maintaining and developing safe work practices.
* Certificate III Engineering – Electrical / Electronic Trade.
* Current Queensland approved Electrical Mechanics Licence.
* Current Queensland C Class Drivers Licence.
* General Construction Induction White Card.
