The Data and Digital Government team within the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business is focussed on growing a thriving digital economy in Queensland, and enabling more responsive, simple and effective services for all Queenslanders.About your roleThe Category Manager is responsible for the provision of advice and leading the delivery of procurement activities that are aimed at realising the expected outcomes associated with category management activities such as procurement, supplier relationship, planning and execution management, sourcing and value chain realisation. These activities will be associated with whole-of-Government panel arrangements and other supply arrangements within the portfolio.Key responsibilitiesIn this role, you will:- Prepare, negotiate and manage contracts to establish whole-of-Government procurement arrangements in the specific area of Telecoms, ICT hardware, software or ICT services.- Lead and manage an assigned category and develop category and sourcing strategies, aligning to broader digital strategies and priorities. Provide advice and guidance and enable agency collaboration of procurement officers across the sector to improve procurement performance and compliance across the sector as it relates to an assigned category.- Facilitate implementation and negotiate long-term agreements and/or partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.- Lead category specialist staff in applying and streamlining standard processes, offering advice and guidance as necessary.- Other activities as required to facilitate effective contract and vendor management.- Realise procurement savings and operational benefits through governance and controls, category management, value chain improvement and capability development.- Perform a key role in building procurement capability within and outside the Qld Government ICT Strategic Sourcing area Applications will remain current for 12 months.
