We are seeking a passionate individual for the Visitor Experience and Information Officer who reports to the Commercial Tourism Manager and is based at Stromlo Depot in Coombs. The Visitor Experience and Information Officer is a people person who enjoys working across parks and conservation, collaborating with stakeholders to develop, maintain, and improve visitor experiences, and promoting community awareness of conservation values within the PCS estate. The role is part of the Volunteer and Visitor Experience team within the Parks and Partnerships section of the ACT Parks and Conservation Service. Eligibility/Other requirements: This position may require a pre-employment medical. Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Working with vulnerable people (WWVP) registration (act.gov.au) Current ACT manual driver’s licence. This position is required to wear a uniform. Be prepared to work some shift work (including weekends) for key events as required. Highly Desirable: Tertiary qualifications relevant to natural or cultural resource management and/or recreation or tourism management in protected areas are desirable but not essential. Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 12 months with the possibility of permanency.
