About the role
Friendly Grocer East Row is seeking an experienced Deli Manager to lead our fresh food deli department. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with strong food retail or catering experience who can drive quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage daily deli operations including hot foods, cold cuts, salads, and prepared meals
* Lead, train, and roster deli staff
* Ensure food safety, hygiene, and HACCP compliance at all times
* Ordering, stock control, waste reduction, and GP management
* Maintain high standards of presentation and customer service
* Implement promotions and improve sales performance
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience as a Deli Manager or Senior Deli Supervisor
* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Solid knowledge of food safety and compliance
* Experience in supermarkets, food retail, or catering environments
* Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and peak trading periods
