About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Civil Trainer to deliver structured training programs within a correctional environment. This role focuses on equipping incarcerated individuals with practical civil, vocational, and life skills to support rehabilitation and successful reintegration into society.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver training in areas such as civil construction basics, workplace safety, and community skills
* Develop and adapt lesson plans to suit diverse learning needs and literacy levels
* Promote positive behavior, discipline, and engagement in a secure environment
* Assess participant progress and maintain accurate training records
* Work collaboratively with correctional staff and support services
* Ensure all activities comply with safety and security procedures
Essential Requirements
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent)
* Experience in civil construction, infrastructure, or related field
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage challenging behaviors in a calm and professional manner
* Understanding of workplace health and safety standards
* National Police Check and ability to obtain prison security clearance
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience working in correctional facilities or with at-risk populations
* Knowledge of rehabilitation and reintegration programs
* First Aid certification
* Cultural awareness and sensitivity training
