Elphinstone Pty Ltd is a proudly Tasmanian manufacturer supplying specialised equipment to the global underground and surface mining industries, as well as the defence and utilities sectors.
With over 45 years in operation and 280+ skilled employees, we design and build heavy mobile equipment including:
* Underground concrete agitators
* Fuel & lube trucks
* Water cannons
* Mine Extraction Devices (MED)
* Graders
Every machine is engineered for safety, reliability, productivity and serviceability - and you\'ll be hands-on in building and improving them.
What Makes This Role Different?
You\'ll be involved in:
* Fault finding and troubleshooting on new builds
* Working closely with in-house engineers on prototype development
* Building and testing brand-new equipment
* Interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings
* Improving designs and providing practical trade feedback
You\'ll see a machine built from the ground up - and know you played a key role in it.
Rosters That Work for You

* 4 on / 3 off (Mon–Thurs or Tues–Fri)
* 5-day week option
* 9-day fortnight option
Overtime available if you want it.
What We\u2019re Looking For
* Cert III in Mobile Plant / Diesel Fitting / Heavy Vehicle (or equivalent)
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
* Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings
* Pride in quality workmanship
* Commitment to safety
* Team-focused attitude
Experience with Caterpillar equipment is advantageous but not essential.
