Fenix Convenience Pty Ltd, operating under the United Petroleum brand, is seeking an experienced and driven Retail Manager to lead the overall retail operations of our Alice Springs site.
This is a senior management position responsible for the strategic and operational management of the retail business, including staff leadership, financial performance, compliance, and continuous improvement across all retail functions.
Key Responsibilities
* Overall management of the retail business, ensuring profitability, efficiency, and compliance
* Lead, supervise, and develop retail supervisors and staff across all shifts
* Develop and manage staff structures, rosters, and workforce planning
* Monitor and analyse sales, fuel margins, stock performance, and operational KPIs
* Oversee stock procurement, inventory management, supplier negotiations, and cost control
* Implement and maintain company policies, procedures, and operational standards
* Ensure compliance with workplace health & safety, food safety, and regulatory requirements
* Manage budgets, cash flow, banking, and financial reporting
* Resolve escalated customer, staff, and operational issues professionally
* Drive customer service excellence and continuous business improvement initiatives
* Liaise with senior management, suppliers, and external stakeholders as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Minimum 2–3 years' experience in retail management
* Proven experience managing a service station, roadhouse, or high-volume retail environment
* Strong leadership, people management, and decision-making skills
* Sound understanding of retail financials, stock control, and compliance
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Proficiency in POS systems and Microsoft Office
* Knowledge of OH&S and food safety compliance
