The State Library of New South Wales is one of Australia's oldest and most important public institutions. As a Digital Archives Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work with our rich collections, both physical and digital, alongside partnerships with the public library network across NSW and other vibrant collaborations.
The Data Quality, Systems and Standards Branch supports the operational activities of the Division. It is responsible for developing and setting data standards, policies and procedures for the Library, based on an understanding of the external landscape and accepted best practice standards.
The Digital Curation team develop, operationalise, and support workflows and processes for the acquisition and ongoing stewardship of born-digital collection material across the Library. They also communicate knowledge and the importance of digital preservation, ensuring all staff have sufficient knowledge in digital preservation relevant to their roles to enable the Library to develop and maintain robust digital materials.
About the Role
As a Digital Archives Analyst, you will work with the Lead Digital Archivist and Digital Curation team to develop and support workflows and processes for the acquisition and ongoing stewardship of born-digital collection material across the Library.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and support workflows and processes for the acquisition and ongoing stewardship of born-digital collection material
* Collaborate with the Lead Digital Archivist and Digital Curation team to ensure the development and maintenance of robust digital materials
* Communicate knowledge and the importance of digital preservation to staff
Requirements
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in information management and the management of born-digital collections
* Applied knowledge of international standards and good practice relating to preservation of digital materials in a library or archive environment
* Experience in the use of collection management systems, web-based technologies and databases for ongoing stewardship of born-digital collections
