About the Building Commission NSW

* The new Building Commission NSW was established after the NSW Government recognised the substantial progress made by Fair Trading and the Office of the Building Commissioner in delivering once-in-a-generation reforms of the building and construction industry. The Commission will not only be the industry regulator, but also a collaborator with consumers and industry to ensure standards, capabilities, capacity and resilience continue to be lifted across the sector to deliver quality homes and meet the state's housing targets.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the next phase of the Building Commission within NSW.

Responsibilities include:

* Provide support and contribute to the collation and monitoring of information to ensure that inputs on products and services including briefings, correspondence, Cabinet and Parliamentary service matters are provided on time, accurate and completed to expected standards
* Prepare high quality documentation to ensure consistent delivery of services in line with relevant legislation, agreed policy and standards
* Assist with the analysis and development of information and reports to diverse audiences to support informed decision making and planning
* Provide advice and support to a diverse range of stakeholders to assist the delivery of responses to sensitive and urgent matters
* Develop a contemporary understanding of Parliamentary functions, policies, legislation and the NSW system of government and matters to facilitate efficient and high-quality service delivery
* Coordinate manage and maintain records and documentation in line with government requirements, protocols and business needs to ensure that all information is accurate, stored correctly and accessible

To be successful in this role you will have:

* Demonstrated ability to effectively support the delivery of multiple work items in accordance with agreed standards and milestones given heavy workloads, and tight deadlines while maintaining confidentiality and acting with discretion
* Strong relationship building skills and be able to quickly develop collaborative working relationships with stakeholders in a challenging environment, and across multiple teams and functions, while ensuring a positive customer experience in an environment of political sensitivity
* Demonstrated a flexible, adaptive and responsive approach, while exercising good judgement in response to rapidly changing priorities and conflicting perspectives
