At General Dynamics Land Systems - Australia (GDLS-A), we work closely with Defence and industry partners to ensure our combat vehicles continue to meet all mission requirements as needed by the Australian Defence Force.
The SCM Procurement Specialist plays a critical role in managing duties associated with the on-boarding of suppliers, negotiation, selection, and purchase order placement of indirect, production and aftermarket product, services, in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities include investigating potential suppliers for direct parts and repair services, identifying and addressing shortfalls in the supplier base, expediting quotes and orders from suppliers, generating Supply Chain Management reports, preparing import and export permits, providing administrative support for the Online Travel Booking System, and monitoring the Supply Chain Management generic email inbox.
To be successful in this role, you will have strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to administer affairs between GDLS and suppliers, demonstrated experience dealing with export/import and trade compliance requirements, cost analysis of proposals, proposal negotiations, expediting and shortage management, and eligibility to obtain an Australian government security clearance.
