University Librarian (Associate Director)

We are seeking an exceptional individual for the position of University Librarian to lead the Library's strategic direction and services. This pivotal leadership role will shape and deliver innovative library services aligned with UOW's research, learning, and teaching aspirations.
About The Role
The University Librarian will provide visionary leadership and strategic oversight of the University's library, advancing its role as a cornerstone of academic excellence and innovation. This position is accountable for ensuring that library facilities, services, and technologies are progressive, accessible, and responsive to the evolving demands of students, staff, and researchers, while positioning the University as a leader in scholarly information services nationally and internationally.
As a senior member of Academic Services at Associate Director level, the University Librarian will make a substantive contribution to governance, institutional strategy, and sector-wide advocacy. The role requires the capacity to navigate complex change, cultivate high-value partnerships, and lead with authority across the University and beyond.
About You
* Eligibility for Associate (Professional) Membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) and relevant tertiary qualifications, or equivalent experience.
* A strong record of strategic leadership and innovation in a large, complex academic or educational institution.
* Expertise in digital transformation, technology-enabled services, and open access resources.
* Extensive experience in budget management and resource optimisation.
* Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to build trust and effective partnerships across diverse stakeholders.
* A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation.
