Nu-con Design & Construction Pty Ltd is a specialist manufacturer of high-quality precast concrete panels and structural components for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects across Australia. Due to continued growth and increased project demand, we are seeking askilled and experienced Welder (First Class)to join our fabrication and production team.
About the Role
The Welder will play a key role in the fabrication, assembly, and finishing of steel components used in precast concrete panels, moulds, frames, and associated structural elements. The position requires a high level of technical skill, attention to detail, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and specifications for precast panel and structural steel fabrication
* Welding steel components, reinforcement cages, frames, brackets, and moulds using MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding techniques
* Fabricating and assembling steel moulds and fixtures used in precast concrete production
* Cutting, bending, shaping, and fitting steel using hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery
* Ensuring welds meet structural, dimensional, and quality specifications
* Conducting routine checks and minor repairs to welding equipment and tools
* Working collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams to meet project timelines
* Maintaining a safe and clean work environment in accordance with WHS requirements
Skills and Experience Required
* Trade qualification in Welding, Fabrication, or a closely related field
* Minimum 1 years of relevant full-time post-qualification experience as a Welder or Fabricator Welder
* Demonstrated experience welding structural steel components in a manufacturing or construction environment
* Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Strong understanding of welding safety standards and quality control requirements
* Experience working in precast, concrete, or heavy manufacturing environments will be highly regarded
