Our client is a leading healthtech innovation and manufacturing company focused on creating breakthrough products and commercially successful businesses that transform healthcare and deliver real-world impact.
With a multidisciplinary team, they provide end-to-end product design, engineering and manufacturing services across diagnostics, life sciences and healthcare. Due to increased project demand, they are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver mechanical design solutions for medical device products from concept through to production
* Develop detailed 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks to an advanced/expert level
* Design and develop components using plastics, rubber and injection moulded parts, ensuring manufacturability and compliance
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including industrial design, electronics, quality and manufacturing
* Support prototyping, testing, design verification and validation activities
* Ensure designs comply with relevant medical device standards and regulatory requirements
Key Requirements
* Proven experience as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer within medical device development
* Advanced / expert-level SolidWorks capability is essential
* Strong hands-on experience with plastic and rubber component design, including injection moulding
* Solid understanding of design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA)
* Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a collaborative project team
* Excellent communication and documentation skills
* Full Australian working rights are required
