**Retail Insight**
Do you want to be part of a growing global business? Would you like to solve real problems for some of the world's leading retail brands (including Woolworths, Diageo and Danone) and be part of a supportive team of like-minded people? We're on a huge journey and we want you on onboard.
At Retail Insight our mission is to reinvent retail operations through advanced analytics, growing sales and profitability across the globe. To continue to do this and be the best we need more talented individuals to join our team.
**A bit about the role**:
In this exciting new role, you will be playing a key part in the development and roll out of our new Data Platform. Being designed from the ground up in the modern data stack to provide a best-in-class environment for our 40+ global analysts and data scientists, you will help bring next generation skills and workflows to the organisation.
You will work closely with data & analytics engineering, other analysts, and our Analytics Leadership Team to bring our solution to life and ensure we're building a system that meets the needs of our teams.
Here are some examples of what you might be doing:
- **Support the rollout** by engaging with the wider (client-facing) analyst community to ensure uptake, identifying training requirements & skills gaps, building example use-cases to demonstrate best-in-class usage from the platform.
- **Look for and develop use cases **that demonstrate the capabilities on the platform whilst supporting the businesses growth ambitions, turning them into cases studies and/or practical outputs
- **Be the analyst for the platform**, ensuring we understand usage patterns and can measure, mitigate and forecast cost. Build and implement appropriate tools and controls to make sure we're rolling out a sustainable solution.
- **Be the champion **Above all else, we are looking for a champion who can engage with various parts of the business around the world, helping them understand how Data Platform will help them achieve their own deliverables.
You will be exposed to:
- Modern data stack, including Snowflake and dbt
- Enterprise-scale datasets
- Motivated and experienced analysts, analytics engineers, data engineers and data scientists who understand the problems we want to solve and the industry we work in
- Engaged and involved leadership teams who are close to the business and often close to the detail.
- The opportunity (and expectation) to bring ideas and innovation that we can try out. Not everything is a winner, but you'll have the safe-space to try
**Your knowledge, skills and competencies**
- You have strong, well-rounded written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex problems in simple, relatable language with key messaging.
- Advanced SQL experience, ideally within a cloud-compute-based environment such as Snowflake or Big Query
- Working with large, complex datasets is second nature to you; you know which tools to use to get the job done
- Familiar with using a git workflow for development and source control and/or other CI/CD work principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills coupled with trouble shooting ability
**About your previous experience**:
- Previous experience in a technical-orientated analytical role, providing demonstrable value and commercial impact
- Strong analytical background with at least a bachelor's degree required; a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Science or Engineering or a master's degree is a plus
- Knowledge of Data Visualisation software (e.g. Power BI) is desirable, but not essential
**Benefits and Perks**:
RI offers a competitive salary, flexible working hours, access to our Employee Assistance Program, an extra day of paid leave on your birthday, one paid charity day per quarter, team lunches, an audible subscription, and options to support your development and growth.
**The Process**:
