About the Role
The role of the support worker is to provide exceptional service while supporting Interact Australia's clients to meet their goals as set out in their NDIS plan. This includes:
* Working autonomously to provide appropriate levels of support to maintain and improve the client's independence, including community participation, skill building, vocational preparation, relationship building, and other needs.
* Responding to the client's needs and collaborating positively with their families, support people and others in their lives.
* Keeping accurate and complete records of activities via progress notes.
* Working within the NDIS Code of Conduct.
* Providing community access and domestic support.
Who you are / Requirements
* NDIS Worker Screening
* Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module
* Working with Children Check (WWC)
* Understanding of NDIS and its principles
* Ability to work in partnership with NDIS participants to achieve their goals
* Passion for assisting individuals with a disability to improve their quality of life
* Driver's licence and own car, and willingness to use for transporting clients (where required)
* Ability to work in Australia and entitlement to work
* Australian Federal Police check may be required prior to appointment
Note: The successful candidate will be required to undergo various screenings prior to confirmation of appointment, including police checks and Working with Children checks, and must disclose any pre-existing injury or disease that may be affected by undertaking the inherent requirements of the position.
