About the role
This role is full time, fixed term, commencing 27 January 2026 until 26 January 2027; but could be part time by negotiation.
The primary purpose of this position is to deliver high-quality, professional training and assessment within the ICP20120 Certificate II in Printing and Graphic Arts program.
You will guide and support students as they develop foundational skills in printing and graphic arts, with a strong focus on pre-press and printing operations.
In addition to delivering structured training sessions, you will lead students in the production of real client projects relevant to the printing and graphic arts industry. This includes overseeing design and print work undertaken through SYDPAD (printing and graphic arts workshop), ensuring all projects meet professional and commercial standards.
As the Business Unit Manager of SYDPAD, you will also ensure the safe and efficient use of equipment, materials, and workspaces, manage workshop operations, prepare materials, and maintain compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) and industry standards.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)
Relevant qualifications in printing and graphic arts, or related field
Recent and relevant industry experience in printing and graphic arts or related areas
Pre-press operations: Understanding of digital file preparation, layout, colour management, and workflow processes.
Printing processes: Knowledge of printing techniques, including machine setup, operation, and maintenance.
Finishing processes: Skills in trimming, binding, laminating, and packaging printed materials.
Design software proficiency: Competence in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat) and other relevant design tools.
Print production workflow: Ability to manage projects from concept to finished product, ensuring accuracy and quality control.
Previous training and assessment experience
Working with Children Check
VIT - Permission to teach(desirable)
Experience working with youth or delivering VET programs in schools
Essential Personal Skills:
Great communication skills to interface with the various stakeholders, which include workplace colleagues, Secondary education students, management and restaurant customers.
Organisational skills to manage your own work diary – ensuring reliability and punctuality
Ability to work closely with and report to RTO management.

Salary will be based on the CEMEA 2022. The level and subdivision of the successful candidate will be negotiated based on experience, qualifications and previous industry experience.
