About the role The primary focus of the position is to plan for, and deliver, in park services as directed by the Manager to enable efficient and effective delivery at a district level in accordance with the Regional Action Plan. The Ranger will be adaptable and flexible to on the ground service requirements in order to ensure superior park management services are achieved at all times. Core duties for the Heyfield team are focussed around managing facilities, camping areas, park furniture, site maintenance and planing and delivery of nature conservation projects which include pest plant and animal projects. About the Team Parks Victoria is proud to be the main partner with Traditional Owners in caring for jointly-managed parks. We work closely with Traditional Owners to protect the natural and cultural values of these areas and deliver the objectives of the Joint Management Plans. The Ranger team at Heyfield work alongside Gunaikurnai Traditional Owners and their Rangers in a Joint Management Partnership. We're looking for someone with:
* Demonstrated experience in self-management and supervisory skills
* Demonstrated experience in customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
* Relevant level of knowledge of regulations and compliance procedures
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
* The incumbent must be available to work weekends and public holidays if required
* A tertiary qualification in Certificate or Diploma in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management and/or equivalent experience in a similar field is preferable
* A current Employee Working with Children Check is required
