We’re partnering with a major player in Australia’s energy transition to hire a sharp, outcomes-driven Contracts Manager. The opportunity
You’ll be the commercial backbone across high-value programs: setting the rhythm for governance, protecting margin, heading off risk, and leading the conversations that keep delivery on track. Expect senior visibility, tricky problems, and the scope to influence outcomes across the full contract lifecycle.
What you’ll do
- Own contract performance across major works: entitlement management, variations, EOTs, claims and close-outs.
- Set the standard with practical frameworks (CMPs, playbooks, registers) that lift consistency and control.
- Negotiate with purpose — suppliers, delivery partners, and internal stakeholders — to land balanced, defensible outcomes.
- Stay ahead of risk via structured commercial reviews, cost/time/revenue insight, and proactive mitigation.
- Guide delivery teams so obligations are clear, compliance is tight, and decisions are data-led.
- Report with authority to program leadership on exposure, opportunities, and recovery strategies.
What you’ll bring
- ~10+ years’ experience across complex construction/engineering or asset-heavy environments.
- Deep hands-on with major contract suites and performance/KPI regimes.
- A track record running claims, disputes and negotiations through to resolution.
- Sharp commercial judgment, crisp communication, and the confidence to challenge when it counts.
- Tertiary qualifications in commerce, law, engineering or similar (construction law exposure a plus).
