About the Role
Our practice is growing and we're seeking mechanical engineers of varying experience to join our Sydney and team. We are seeking engineers of the highest calibre to get involved in current and future projects and help to deliver timely, accurate and high-quality results to our clients.
The roles involve designing and developing mechanical systems, utilising design software and computer-aided design & modelling (AutoCAD/Revit, Bluebeam, Camel, DesignBuilder) tools, and conducting research and development (R&D) to enhance project outcomes. Responsibilities also include collaborating with clients and cross-disciplinary teams, managing engineering projects to ensure successful delivery, and contributing to innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.
* You will be responsible for the design and documentation of mechanical services including air conditioning, heating, cooling and ventilation and other building services systems, guiding projects from concept through construction and completion.
* You will collaborate closely with architects, project managers, builders, and our own multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated and creative design solutions.
* Your work will ensure compliance with Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC), and local authority requirements.
* You will also conduct site inspections, coordinate with contractors during construction, and contribute to energy-efficient and sustainable design strategies.
* Engaging directly with clients to understand their needs, you will deliver tailored solutions that meet performance and regulatory requirements.
* For those with more experience, there will be opportunities to mentor junior engineers, promote knowledge sharing and advocating technical excellence across the team.
A little about you
* Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
* Completed a Degree or tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering
* 2 – 10 years engineering design experience preferably partly with a building services consulting or contracting firm
* Understanding of Australian Standards and the NCC
* You'll have skills in Computer-Aided Design & Modelling related software - Camel, DesignBuilder, AutoCAD, Revit
* Understanding of sustainable design principles and their practical applications
* You'll either have completed or commit to pursuing Engineers Australia Chartership and/or NER registration, NSW Fair Trading Professional Engineer registration, ACT Professional Engineer Registration
* Team orientated and collaborative, technically curious, commercially aware with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
