About the role

With the addition of the luxury tents in April 2026, we are seeking a Sous Chef who will play a vital role in supporting the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations in the lodge and restaurant. This position involves leading the kitchen team in the absence of the Executive Chef and ensuring that all culinary activities align with the vision of the lodge. Key responsibilities include the meticulous preparation and execution of the menu for guests at Monarto Safari Resort.

The Sous Chef is committed to maintaining the highest standards of food production, compliance, and hygiene. This role requires a strong focus on quality control to guarantee exceptional dining experiences. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef to uphold the culinary standards and foster a positive kitchen environment.

About you

The successful candidate will have:

* a minimum of 3 years experience in similar position
* Commercial Cookery Certificate
* Pride in delivering the best standards of guest service, ensuring our guests leave us with lasting memories.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to produce excellent high-quality food
* High level of attention to detail
