About the Role

Step into a role where your work truly matters. Join The Salvation Army in Mount Isa as an AOD Case Worker and help change lives every day. You'll provide hands‐on case management and evidence‐based support to people navigating alcohol and other drug challenges, empowering them to reduce harm, rebuild stability and move confidently toward long‐term recovery.

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct person‐centred AOD assessments, screening and risk evaluations
* Develop tailored treatment plans and track participant progress
* Provide trauma‐informed, strengths‐based case management
* Identify co‐occurring needs and coordinate referrals to mental health, medical and specialist services
* Deliver therapeutic interventions (CBT, ACT, mindfulness, MI, relapse prevention)
* Support participants to build insight, develop coping strategies and reduce harmful substance use
* Facilitate psycho‐educational and therapeutic groups, including TSA's Foundations program
* Champion culturally safe, inclusive and respectful practice, especially with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

What You'll Bring

* Cert IV in AOD (or related qualification/experience; those enrolled may be considered)
* Experience in AOD, case management, harm minimisation and trauma‐informed practice
* Strong communication, rapport‐building and teamwork skills
* Ability to work effectively with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTQIA+ individuals, CALD communities and people with complex needs
* Resilience, adaptability and a commitment to participant‐centred care

Other Requirements

* National Police Check
* Working With Children Check
* Current Driver's Licence
