**About the Opportunity**
The Chapter Lead is a capability expert and is a servant leader for their Chapter members. Their primary function is to coach, mentor, support & upskill the chapter members and ensure we have the capability necessary to deliver value through the delivery squads.
The Chapter Lead will also support their chapter to establish and maintain standards to ensure quality delivery of their capability across the organization.
This is a hands-on role which focuses on chapter management activities within their practice while continuing to deliver technical value through their relevant agile delivery squad.
- Works as a key software engineering resource with an Agile delivery squad.
- Stays abreast of work allocated to squads to understand improvement possibilities, and challenges facing chapter members.
- Works closely with all Practices & Chapters in Endeavour to protect efficiency of software delivery, standards and capability improvements for team members. Works with Product Managers & Delivery Leads, to remove impediments from the Chapter function.
- Dedicate 50% of time to Chapter management activities/ performance reviews along with hands on project deliveries involving all development activities within the squad.
- Coaches, mentors, supports & upskills Chapter Members.
- Reinforces Endeavour's Agile & Scrum values and principles.
- Facilitates discussion to resolve conflict within the Chapter.
- Maintains connection with external industry developments for potential opportunities in capability development
- Stay abreast of work allocated to squads to understand improvement possibilities,and challenges facing chapter members
- Setting objectives for the Chapter and reporting using defined standards
- Responsible for ensuring Chapter norms and standards are understood and followed by their members
- Participates when required Inception workshops, to enable decomposition and planning
- Coach Chapter Members in the capability discipline to be empowered and self-organized
- Assists Tribes & Squads when they require recruitment and/or growing of Chapter aligned capabilities
**What you'll need to succeed**
- 2+ years' leadership experience, with a proven track record in leading high performing teams
- Demonstrated ability to coach, and mentor software engineers, with a focus on standard practices, capability uplift of people while balancing sustainable delivery of high quality software.
- Expert stakeholder management skills; advanced ability to communicate complex ideas, concepts.
- Excellent C# /.Net /.Net Core development skills
- Excellent knowledge of cloud infrastructure and components preferably Azure and able to facilitate design discussions.
- Excellent Angular, Typescript, CSS and HTML5 development skills
- Modern development toolchain (VSTS/Azure DevOps/GIT etc)
- CI/CD development/deployment practices
- Expert knowledge and understanding of RESTful web services
- Modern software design practices
- Secure coding best practices
- Strong development testing knowledge - Unit testing, test automation
- Experience working in Agile Development teams
