What is the role
We are currently on the hunt for an experienced Systems Engineer with a background working for an IT Systems Integrator or Managed Service Provider. Working from our Newcastle office, full‐time (38 hours) Monday to Friday, the role will be responsible for providing technical solutions for our clients, including problem resolution, product installation, configuration, testing and product/service recommendations. With our front‐line team taking care of triaging, you will service clients suited to your professional skillset, ensuring a positive experience for both you and the client.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide remote and onsite IT support
* Diagnose and resolve hardware/network issues
* Maintain system performance, reliability, and security
* Collaborate with clients on technical needs
* Recommend technologies and assist in selection
* Create design and technical documentation
* Support junior staff and escalated issues
* Monitor logs and respond to incidents
* Liaise with vendors as needed
* Improve and automate procedures
* Expand technical skills through training
* Log activities accurately
* Participate in on‐call support
* Perform other related tasks
Who we are looking for
This is a customer‐facing role that requires excellent presentation and communication skills, as well as a highly technical mindset. The role demands a large amount of autonomy, so a candidate who has strong time‐management and organisational skills will be heavily favoured. A vibrant personality combined with technical expertise is essential.
Technical Skills
* Windows Server set‐up, administration, support and maintenance
* Exchange Server set‐up, support and administration
* Entra ID – Office 365 / Intune
* Remote Desktop support and administration
* Veeam support and administration
* Basic network troubleshooting – experience with basic network protocols, any Cisco router experience will be highly regarded
* Basic telephone system support – any experience highly regarded
* Experience with remote support tools – TeamViewer, Remote Desktop Manager, etc.
* VMWare MSP experience is highly desirable
