Curtis Electrical Contracting is seeking a motivated Trades Assistant to join our growing team. The role supports electrical trades and site works across a mine site at the base of the stunning Darling Scarp, along with projects across multiple mining operations throughout Western Australia.
About the Role
This hands‑on position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience on a mine site while being home every night. You will work a 4‑day week (Monday to Thursday), making this an excellent work–life balance opportunity.
Key Skills and Experience you can offer us:
Applicants should have knowledge and experience in most of the following areas:
Welding and fabrication
* Operating machinery such as:
o Bobcat
o Light trucks
o Excavators
* Assisting with EWP operations
* Minor civil works, including small concrete pads
* Assisting qualified electrical trades on site
Not all tickets are required. Training can be provided in some skills; however, existing knowledge and practical experience are essential.
The successful candidate must have prior to commencement:
* Current valid driver’s license (manual preferred)
* Australian citizen or resident with full rights to work in Australia
* Be drug and alcohol free and be able to pass pre-employment medical and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing
Desirable:
* First Aid Certificate
* Competent with SimPro
* White Card
Location and Details
Work will be based out of our Waroona workshop and carried out across various client sites throughout the Peel region.
4 day working week Monday to Thursday – 11 hour days on average.
The successful applicant must reside in the Peel Region to meet fatigue management requirements.
