The Role
We're looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join our fast‐paced HR team and help us deliver accurate, timely payroll services across Australia and New Zealand.
Reporting to the Head of Remuneration & Benefits, you'll oversee payroll operations for parts of our business, partner closely with our outsourced provider (Employment Hero/KeyPay), and make sure our people are supported with clear, reliable payroll guidance.
The HR team plays a key role in shaping the employee experience and fostering a workplace where people feel valued, supported and set up to succeed. In this role, you'll influence how smoothly our payroll function runs, and you'll make a genuine difference to our people every day. Here's what a typical day could look like:
* Manage payroll operations for Australian and New Zealand employees, ensuring payments are accurate, compliant and on time.
* Maintain payroll data, keeping employee information current, complete and aligned with statutory requirements.
* Support our people by responding to payroll queries with clear, helpful guidance on leave, superannuation and entitlements.
* Partner with risk and compliance teams to meet audit requirements and maintain strong internal controls.
* Contribute to a high‐performing HR team, championing continuous improvement and a culture that's positive, balanced and real.
This role also offers room to grow, a chance to step into broader payroll responsibilities as the organisation scales.
About You
We're looking for someone who's curious, calm under pressure and great at solving problems. Someone who enjoys getting the details right, and who cares about creating a smooth experience for the people relying on them.
Here's what you'll bring:
* Extensive payroll experience (around 5+ years) managing end‐to‐end payroll in a standalone capacity.
* Strong knowledge of employment legislation related to pay, leave and entitlements.
* Advanced Excel skills and confidence reporting and analysing payroll data.
* Experience managing outsourced payroll providers, with a focus on communication and service quality.
* A problem‐solving mindset, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve payroll issues.
* Curiosity and continuous‐improvement focus, with a desire to understand how and why payroll rules apply.
* Experience with Enterprise Agreements (nice to have but not essential).
