About the role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Quality Manager to join our CopRice team in Gunnedah. In this role, you will lead and coordinate all quality management activities across the Equine portfolio to ensure our products consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.
You will work closely with stakeholders across Manufacturing, Nutrition, and Sales to embed a strong quality culture, drive continuous improvement, and enhance our quality systems.
This is a maternity leave contract from May 2026 to March 2027, with potential for extension. Flexible hours will be considered for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance programs, outlining procedures, responsibilities, and standards.
Ensure consistent quality standards and practices across the site.
Lead root cause analysis, problem‑solving and corrective/preventative actions relating to feed safety and quality.
Ensure the site comply with relevant regulations and industry standards, including preparation for internal and external audits.
Monitor and analyse site quality performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives across all sites to enhance systems, processes and outcomes.
Oversee Factory GMP and hygiene standards to maintain high levels of compliance and product safety.
About You
You’ll thrive in this role if you have a passion for Food Science or Animal Science and bring strong experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment. You’re results‑driven, proactive, and skilled at solving complex problems while building strong relationships across the business.
You will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Food Science, Animal Science or a related discipline.
5–10 years’ experience in the food or feed industry within a Quality Specialist/Manager role.
Demonstrated experience in manufacturing and audit preparation/leadership.
Knowledge of feed formulation, animal nutrition and feed safety standards (desirable).
Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey quality standards and procedures.
Strong relationship‑building and influencing skills.
