Senior Category Specialist - Construction
We are seeking an experienced Senior Category Specialist to manage strategic procurement across construction and capital works. This is a key role partnering with senior stakeholders to deliver commercial outcomes across major projects, panels and long-term service arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage risk, variations and disputes with clear communication
* Lead tenders and negotiations with calm, commercial judgement
* Experienced in construction contract tendering, evaluation and award
* Develop and deliver category strategies for construction/capital works spend
* Lead end-to-end sourcing: market engagement, tendering, evaluation, negotiation and award
* Draft/review commercial terms and manage contract risk, variations, claims and performance
* Partner with project and operational stakeholders to support project delivery timeframes and budgets
* Drive supplier performance and continuous improvement across procurement governance
* Provide coaching/mentoring to team members as required
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
* Degree qualified (commerce, business, law, engineering, procurement or similar)
* Demonstrated experience managing construction contracts
* Strong capability across tendering, negotiation, contract formation and contract management
* Working knowledge of construction contracting models (e.g., AS forms, D&C, lump sum, schedule of rates)
* Confident stakeholder engagement style with the ability to influence at senior levels

Casual Loading
Please note for all Australian based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. This excludes permanent and fixed term roles.
