Overseer Agribusiness & Farming Farmer / Farm Hand QLD
A full-time position is available for an Overseer on a privately-owned station aggregation halfway between Richmond and Julia Creek in north western Queensland. The station carries a Brahman breeding herd. Reporting to the owner, your duties include water, fence, basic mechanical and general maintenance. You will also routinely check on cattle and feed feedlot weaners and may participate in occasional stock work. Mustering is by 2-wheel bike, but you may pen ride in the feedlot if you wish.
Duties
Water, mechanical, workshop, fence, and general maintenance
Feedlot machinery operation and maintenance, feeding weaners
Check livestock and occasional cattle work
The position is best suited to a worker with similar experience working on a station in north western Queensland who is physically fit, stable, trustworthy, organised, and reliable with effective communication skills and problem-solving ability. The ideal candidate shows attention to detail in their work and enjoys working independently in a remote environment. Workers who demonstrate strong experience can expect great autonomy in their work and an opportunity to supervise other workers.

The position pays a daily rate matching your experience and comes with an air-conditioned 4-bedroom house with modern kitchen and bathrooms, including electricity and meat. Julia Creek and Richmond are under an hour away.
You can bring a maximum of three horses and well-controlled house pets are negotiable, but applicants should note pig dogs cannot be accommodated. There is no school access, but reliable internet is available for those wishing to home-school. Applicants who progress should be prepared to travel to the station for an interview.
Requirements
Previous experience in a similar position in north western Queensland
Beef cattle mustering & yard work experience
Cattle husbandry knowledge
2-wheel bike mustering experience
Feedlot experience preferred but not essential
Water, fence, basic mechanical and workshop skills
Basic record-keeping skills
Trustworthy with effective communication and organisational skills
Knowledge and application of safe working practices
Manual driver's licence
Physical fitness
