**Job Title: Associate Director of Nursing - Perioperative Services**

**About the Role**: We are looking for an Associate Director of Nursing to join our client's team on a full time, permanent basis, working alongside the Hospital Executive and senior leadership team to provide effective leadership and management of the Operating Suite, Hybrid Theatre, Cardiac Catheter Labs, CSSD, Endoscopy and Day Procedure Unit.
This is a pivotal role within the Leadership team which complements the strategic direction, operational processes, budget, and business direction of the hospital
As a Senior member of the Nursing Leadership Team, you will play a key role in supporting the Nursing Division with a focus on high-quality and safety service provision, effective leadership of the workforce, and operational efficiency through
- Development of the strategic direction and associated planning and
- Ongoing operational performance and innovation
- Quality Implementation and management within the perioperative stream
Our client is a 224-bed acute private hospital whose core surgical specialties include Cardiothoracic, Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Bariatric surgery, Vascular, General surgery, Breast surgery, and Plastics.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- The Associate Director of Nursing (ADON) will provide operational direction for the Services to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based. In addition, they will be accountable and responsible for the effective management of human, financial, and material resources and ensure customer service is maintained at optimal levels.
- Participate in service initiatives that promote growth, help identify clinical areas for expansion and represent the hospital at external clinical forums.
- Work as part of the health care team, adhere to Healthscope and site policies and procedures and key performance indicators; chair and participate in working parties or committees (as required); demonstrate a commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement through National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards (NSQHS), Workplace Health and Safety and achievement of hospital accreditation.
- Take an active role in the management of WHS issues pertaining to the service so as to ensure a safe work environment and safe practice for staff.
- Provide effective leadership in order to meet objectives, ensuring a cost-effective nursing service focused on providing exceptional, evidence-based patient care. This will be achieved through visible and accountable leadership with a strong focus on:
- High-quality/safety service provision,
- Collaborative VMO relationships,
- Energetic and effective leadership of the workforce, and
- Financial and operational efficiency
**Essential Criteria**:
- Registered with AHPRA (Nursing)
- 5 years of leadership experience in an acute hospital setting
- Excellent communication skills
- A strong customer focus
- Financial and human resource management skills
- Strong motivation and ability to manage change
- Able to influence nursing and hospital practice to achieve excellent clinical outcomes
