The role:
Based out of Rockhampton our team of 300 are positioned from 8 Strategic depots across Sunshine and Central Queensland, this role will require travel between Brisbane, Sunshine coast, Gladstone and Rockhampton.
Across these operating locations you'll:
* Provide advice and leadership in relation to fleet and asset management practices, and compliance with relevant legislation, regulation and standards
* Implement the annual Asset Management Plan and Annual Works Plan
* Manage the fleet and asset management budget as specified in the business plan
* Ensure the interface between the fleet asset management team and operational team is functioning effectively through sound communication and planning
* Ensure that all asset maintenance, refurbishments and repairs meet NHVR and DTMR requirements, safety standards and operational requirements
* Champion fleet performance and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with regulatory and health, safety, environment and quality (HSEQ) requirements
* Ensuring appropriate asset management systems and processes are implemented to deliver the required reliability, availability, condition and life of the assets and minimises maintenance costs
* Support all recruitment, training and competency management requirements to ensure safe and efficient asset management, including the maintenance of all contractual and legislative requirements
* Support the investigation of incidents to meet corporate reporting and other safety and environmental requirements
* Oversee and manage contractual obligations to ensure adherence to business KPIs
* Assist with Capital expenditure (Capex) and future Capex
To be successful in this role you'll have:
* Successfully completed relevant trade certificate or engineering qualification.
* At least 5 years' experience in fleet maintenance management (public transport preferred).
* A Certificate IV in Business Studies (desirable).
* A Bus Operator Accreditation Scheme (OA) (desirable).
* A MR License essential (HR preferred).
* Basic safety awareness training.
* Good organizational and communication skills.
* Experience and understanding of quality systems and continuous improvement as defined by the applicable Australian Standard AS9001 – desirable.
* Technical knowledge of repair and maintenance process for heavy/ large vehicles or mobile plant.
