Located close to the Rosebud foreshore, our café / restaurant is entering an exciting new chapter under new ownership. We're breathing new life into an established venue with big plans for a full transformation including a new service area, beer garden, and family-friendly spaces. Our vision is to create a vibrant, welcoming hub for locals and visitors alike, with great food, relaxed coastal vibes, and a strong sense of community.
As we prepare for a busy summer season, we're seeking a passionate and experienced Café / Restaurant Supervisor to lead our front-of-house team and help us create an exceptional guest experience.
The Role
Reporting directly to the owner, you will oversee day-to-day front-of-house operations and play a key role in building a strong, service-driven team. You'll manage rostering, train new team members, and ensure smooth service during both busy summer months and quieter periods.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading the front-of-house team to consistently deliver outstanding customer experiences
* Managing reservations, POS order entry, and smooth day-to-day operations
* Creating and maintaining FOH rosters to match seasonal and daily demands
* Training, mentoring, and supporting both new hires and existing team members
* Championing warm, attentive service and meaningful guest engagement
* Taking the lead on coffee service, especially during quieter periods
* Working closely with the kitchen and FOH teams to ensure cohesive, efficient service
* Upholding safety, hygiene, and hospitality compliance standards across all operations
About You
Proven experience in a busy café, restaurant or bar setting, ideally in a supervisory or senior floor staff role
Minimum 1-2 years of hospitality supervisory experience required
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a positive team culture
A passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Coffee making expertise with a willingness to get hands-on
Latte art capabilities required for coffee service standards
RSA certification (current and valid)
Ability to work a rotating 7-day roster, including weekends and public holidays
Wine and cocktail knowledge is a plus but not essential
Australian work rights required for this position
