About the Role
We're seeking a passionate Health Promotion Officer to help drive positive health and wellbeing outcomes across the Grampians region. As part of the Grampians Public Health Unit (GPHU), you will contribute to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence‐based health promotion and prevention initiatives. You'll work closely with dedicated internal teams, community partners, local governments and organisations across the health system to bring impactful projects to life. This role directly supports key priorities in the Grampians Region Population Health Plan 2025–2027 and the Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2023–2027. Key Responsibilities
* Support the planning, delivery and evaluation of population health initiatives aligned with GPHU priorities and regional health plans.
* Contribute to needs assessments, priority setting and action planning using data and evidence.
* Implement community‐based health promotion activities that address key health determinants across the Grampians region.
* Collaborate with stakeholders including local governments, Aboriginal Cooperatives, Primary Health Networks, schools and community services.
* Assist with community engagement, events, training and resource delivery to ensure culturally safe, locally responsive programs.
* Monitor, evaluate and report on programs, prepare communication materials, and represent GPHU in relevant forums.
Skills & Experience
* Tertiary qualifications in Health Promotion, Public Health, Community Development, or a related field.
* 2 years' experience in health-related project support or similar role
* Demonstrated experience delivering community health-related projects and programs from planning through evaluation, consistently achieving successful outcomes within specified timeframes and resources.
* Proven track record of strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills and working with the communities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and presentations.
