Primary objective
Coordinate daily administrative functions across all Oral Health Service Central Australia (OHSCA) specialist services whilst
providing a high-level of dental assisting services.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Coordinate, monitor and manage waitlists, recall and specialist bookings for public and private patients requiring general
anaesthetics, oral surgery, special needs dentistry, and orthodontics.
1. Coordinate preanesthetic checks, reviews, invoicing, and coordinate accounts payable functions for private oral surgery
patients.
3. Contribute to the management of Titanium rosters and appointment allocations for Alice Springs Correctional Centre
(ASCC).
4. Conduct regular clinical audits as per audit schedule to monitor and report workplace standards for accreditation
purposes.
5. Provide chair side assistance for oral health practitioners or undertake duties within the Sterilisation Department.
6. Coordinate patient transports needs for specialist appointments.
7. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being
undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
8. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Minimum Certificate III in Dental Assisting and relevant experience working as a dental assistant.
1. Demonstrated reliability, initiative and ability to work effectively independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
2. Demonstrated time management and organisational skills including the ability to prioritise competing requirements and
work effectively under pressure with frequently changing priorities.
1. Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, maintain confidentiality and ability to
interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
5. Experience in providing orientation, induction and supervision of staff.
6. Well-developed skills and experience in a range of computer software packages and mainframe applications.
7. Possess a Northern Territory driver's licence.
