The Road Transport Historical Society (RTHS) is seeking an experienced and hands-on General Manager to lead the organisation through a critical period of stabilisation, renewal and growth.
This is a senior employee role reporting directly to the Management Committee and responsible for the overall leadership, financial sustainability and operational performance of RTHS.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The General Manager will:
• lead implementation of priority reforms arising from a Strategic Investment Review
• strengthen governance, solvency and financial management
• act as the principal liaison with NT Government, industry and funding partners
• drive commercial and visitor-experience improvements, including café leasing and re-establishment of the Mini-Ghan
• oversee operations, assets, safety, staff and volunteers
• provide high-quality advice and reporting to the Management Committee
ABOUT YOU
You will bring:
• senior leadership experience in not-for-profit, cultural, tourism, heritage or asset-based organisations
• strong financial and commercial acumen, including cash-flow management, budgets and funding agreements
• demonstrated experience negotiating with government, industry and partners
• sound governance, compliance and WHS capability
• experience leading staff and volunteers through change
• excellent communication skills and confidence working with boards or committees
A genuine interest in heritage, education and tourism outcomes for Central Australia and the Northern Territory is highly regarded.
