Senior Business Analyst (EL1 Equivalent) – Federal GovernmentLocation: Canberra, ACT (Hybrid – remote arrangements may be considered) Contract Duration: 12 months + up to 2 × 12-month extensions Estimated Start Date: 9 March 2026 Industry: Federal Government ICT Programs Security Requirement: Must have or be able to obtain Baseline Security Clearance Engagement: ICT Labour Hire (DMP2)About the OpportunityHatchit Studios is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support a major Federal Government client within a large and complex ICT environment.This role will contribute to the delivery of high-profile digital and ICT initiatives, including projects involving emerging technologies and enterprise platforms, working closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and technical specialists.You will operate at an EL1-equivalent level, playing a key role in translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements to support successful Agile delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesFacilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to elicit and validate business and user requirementsAnalyse current and future-state business processes, user journeys, and information flowsDevelop high-quality artefacts including:Business requirements and functional specificationsProcess maps and service design artefactsUser stories and acceptance criteriaReports, business cases, and change documentationTranslate business needs into technical and functional requirements for delivery teamsSupport Agile delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning, and dependency managementConduct research and analysis aligned with government policies, standards, and legislationEvaluate solution options and assess impacts across business and technology environmentsSkills & Experience RequiredProven experience as a Senior Business Analyst on complex ICT or digital projectsStrong experience working in Agile delivery environmentsDemonstrated ability to develop clear, concise, and fit-for-purpose requirements artefactsExcellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and facilitation skillsAbility to work autonomously and operate effectively at an EL1-equivalent levelExperience working across multi-disciplinary delivery teamsDesirable ExperienceExperience documenting requirements for CMS or web platforms (e.g. Sitecore)Experience using Azure DevOps for user story creation and acceptance criteria trackingExposure to Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Azure Cloud, or Google AnalyticsPrior experience delivering ICT services within government environments
