Love working with people and giving back to your community? We're looking for an enthusiastic and community-minded person to join Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) as our Membership & Community Awareness Coordinator for the North Barrier Region.
In this rewarding role, you'll support local surf clubs and grow membership, bring safety education to life across schools and community events, and promote the lifesaving movement. Based in Townsville, this role offers purpose, variety, and the chance to make a real difference every day.

What You'll Do:
* Lead and grow Surf Life Saving Queensland's Community Awareness Programs across the North Barrier Region
* Inspire and educate schools, community groups, and the public on surf safety and lifesaving awareness
* Build strong relationships with local stakeholders, clubs, and community partners
* Support and guide clubs in delivering junior activities and membership initiatives
* Lead a passionate team of casual Community Awareness Presenters
* Drive recruitment and retention strategies tailored to local needs
* Be a proud ambassador for SLSQ's mission — helping to create safer, stronger, and more connected communities
About You:
* Working with Children Blue Card (or the ability to obtain)
* Proven experience in coordinating multi-site programs and training casual team members
* Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to engage with diverse communities
* Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
* High level of organisational and time management skills
* Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
* Surf Life Saving membership and proficient Bronze Medallion (highly desirable)
