The Economics Department at UTS Business School is seeking to make a fixed-term appointment (up to 2.5 years) at Research Associate, or Fellow level to contribute to the Australian Research Council-funded project &Improving Retirement Decisions: Theory, Evidence, and Policy Solutions\" (LP240200752)). We seek candidates with an emerging record of quality scholarly research with a focus on investments and financial decision-making. The role requires a PhD in Economics and demonstrated experience in behavioural economics, working with administrative data, and survey research methods-ideally with familiarity in the Australian superannuation context.

About the Role
The successful candidate will work as a junior collaborator with the Project Investigators -Prof Mikhail Anufriev, Prof Adeline Delavande, and A/Prof Nathan Kettlewell from the UTS Business School's Economics Department, and Dr Maryam Naghsh Nejad from CHERE, UTS, along with Partner Investigators Giacomo Tarantolo from UniSuper and Dr Shang Wu from Aware Super). The position will be based at UTS and play a central role in the delivery of the project. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, a practical approach, independence and a commitment to high-quality work. Their responsibilities will include helping shape the research agenda and managing day-to-day project operations alongside the Chief Investigators, compiling large-scale linked datasets, conducting data analysis, and co-authoring scholarly outputs. They will also lead aspects of a representative survey, including research design, cognitive testing and coordination with an external survey provider. This is an ideal opportunity to grow a research profile in a broad and expanding field of economics. The project will allow the successful candidate to deepen expertise in world-class administrative and survey datasets and build networks with Australian policymakers and the economics community.
Experience/Qualifications required in the role;
• A PhD in Economics
• Demonstrated experience in fields of economics (especially in behavioural/experimental economics).
Demonstrated experience in working with administrative data, managing large datasets
• Demonstrated experience in survey research methods
• Knowledge of behavioural and experimental economics
Remuneration
Base Salaries are:
Post-Doctoral Research Associate (Level A): $94,152 to $114,672 pa
Post-Doctoral Research Fellow (Level B): $125,240 to $148,229 pa
This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time, and appointment will be made on a fixed-term basis for up to 2.5 years. Consideration will be given to part-time appointments.
