Key responsibilities
* Meal preparation and service: preparing meals according to the planned menu and the number of meals required under the guidance of the Catering Team Leader.
* Set up and clean up: assisting with initial set up, clearing of tables, pack up, wash up, and waste disposal with a keen eye for neatness and hygiene.
* Manage stocks and storage: ensuring food stocks are replenished, within use by dates, and all food items are stored and labelled correctly in accordance with food safety standards.
Qualifications and skills
* Experience in food preparation, handling and service.
* Relevant food handling qualifications as required by local council authorities.
Background check requirements
As this role isn't child‐related and has no significant risk considerations, it does not require background checks.
Time required & commitment
Fixed roster/flexible times as agreed.
Development opportunities
The volunteer will have the chance to develop skills and build experience in food handling, preparation, and service. Additional training opportunities and insight into the work of a large not‐for‐profit religious organisation will be provided.
