A Mechanical Engineer plays a crucial role in the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and management of facility assets, infrastructure, and systems.
Key responsibilities include performing technical studies, analyses, investigations, and consultations, identifying and developing detailed requirements for facility infrastructure, equipment, and system modification, replacement, upgrade, or recapitalization. The engineer must also design and/or develop solutions for various technical problems across the mechanical engineering discipline, review and provide technical advice on proposed changes to facility infrastructure and system changes, and perform engineering calculations to support facility infrastructure operation and design.
The ideal candidate will have experience with building management and control systems, facilities operation and maintenance, project management, and leadership. Familiarity with HVAC and hydronic systems, data centre cooling systems, and building management and control systems is essential. A strong understanding of quality assurance processes, including customer satisfaction, is also required.
Additionally, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and demonstrate a commitment to health and safety practices. In terms of qualifications, an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is mandatory, along with a valid driver's license and a TS/SCI clearance.
