Our team has extensive experience delivering field investigations in both urban and remote environments, with in-house drilling capability that allows us to efficiently manage and prioritise project programs. About the Role
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Laboratory Manager is responsible for managing all facets of our Cairns Laboratory. This role would suit someone who is self-motivated, can work independently, has good people management skills and experience in the local area.Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Ensuring company management systems and policies are understood by staff and are being followed within the Branch;
* Monitoring workloads and resourcing;
* Prioritisation of laboratory samples;
* Management of clients;
* Being responsible for ensuring staff are adequately trained;
* Business development for the Gold Coast Branch; and
* Inter-laboratory audits.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Attitude
You will be self-motivated leader who brings a positive attitude to the team. We are ideally looking for a Laboratory Manager who possesses:
* Good knowledge of Microsoft office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel)
* The ability to work flexible hours and travel for work when required
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* The ability to work under pressure, show initiative, prioritise and schedule work
* Sound understanding of AS1289, 1141 and TMR Q methods.
Qualifications
* Open, current driver's licence;
* Certificate or Diploma in Laboratory Techniques or equivalent;
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in a relevant field;
* Strong experience with excel and other associated software; and
* Be familiar with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025.
