Advanced equipment technician

The Shire of Esperance is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join its Workshop team in a rewarding and challenging role.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all mechanical plant and equipment operated by the Shire, ensuring they are functioning efficiently and safely.

This position involves scheduled servicing and troubleshooting of complex issues, requiring strong technical knowledge and analytical skills.


Key Responsibilities:

* Repair and maintain all mechanical plant and equipment
* Schedule regular servicing to minimize downtime
* Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical, electrical and operational issues

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a Plant Mechanic, with a strong background in computer diagnostics and a proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

A key aspect of this role is the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and stakeholders, providing clear and concise updates on job progress and any issues that may arise.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate records and participating in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.

Working hours will be 85 hours over a nine day fortnight, providing a good work-life balance and opportunities for career progression.
