The region experiences a high incidence of road accidents, skin cancer, farm injuries, and work safety accidents. Population increases during the fruit harvest season, attracting around 10,000 itinerant workers from across Australia and overseas. Common conditions treated include snake bites, cuts, eye injuries from branches, injuries from falling off fruit picking ladders, and allergic reactions.
